The NewTom VG is one of the newer additions to the NewTom family of products. Unlike the 3G, the VG is an upright scanning system, with no fixed seating. This means that all patients, even those confined to wheelchairs, can be positioned very easily for scanning. The system’s seating flexibility also means that adults and children can be readily accommodated. In addition, since it looks very much like a panoramic unit, the NewTom VG provides an important level of comfort and familiarity for patients.

The NewTom VG has a footprint of about 3.7’ by 5’, making it a practical option even for practices where office space is at a premium. The complete NewTom VG system includes scanner, cabinet with electronic circuitry (conveniently locatable up to 10 feet from the scanner), computer workstation, and all required software. • Field of view: The NewTom 3G provides the largest field of view (FOV) of any Cone Beam scanner on the market. Many competitors have such a small field of view that they deliver an image of only 2-3 teeth, and no other unit can deliver a full 12 inch FOV in one scan like the NewTom 3G. In addition, a model with 9 inch FOV is also available.

• Number of Images: The NewTom captures 360 static images in a 36 second scan. This number is far greater than that captured by any other scanner on the market. More images equals better quality.

• Compatibility: NewTom 3G is fully compatible with all implant planning, orthodontic and PACS software packages

• Lowest Radiation: The NewTom 3G provides the lowest radiation dosage of any CBCT scanner available, as documented in multiple studies. During the 36 second scan, the patient is typically only being exposed for 4-5 seconds. NewTom is safer for patients.
