Installation Instructions
for AS-9 Amalgam Separator
Central
Vacuum System: 2-4 chairs
-
Install the
ASDEX Manifold Head Assembly (2000D) in a
location as close to vacuum pump as
practical.
-
The system
needs to be mounted in a vertical position.
-
Do not remove
ty-wrap from manifold until manifold
installation is complete.
-
Use mounting
bracket (MBK-1) to mount manifold.
-
Out port
(note arrow) goes to vacuum pump, in port
(note arrow) goes to vacuum line leading to
dental operatory.
-
Remove and
save the two disposal caps from the ASDEX
Separator.
-
Before
installing ASDEX AS-20 Amalgam Separator
remove ty-wrap from manifold head assembly.
Chair Side:
Single Chair

Install the ASDEX Manifold Assembly near
chair.

The system
needs to be mounted in a vertical position.

Do not remove
ty-wrap from manifold until manifold
installation is complete.

Use mounting
bracket (MBK-1) to mount manifold.

Out port
(note arrow) goes to vacuum pump, in port
(note arrow) goes to mouthpiece.

How do I
know when to replace the separator
For 2-4 operatory dental practice the
original separator may require replacement
in about 1.5 years. When the separator is
90% full, your vacuum in the mouthpiece will
be low and continue to go lower.
You will need to do the following:
- Order #AS-20 replacement separator:
call 800-422-3520
- Contact "Maguire & Strickland" to
order prepaid waste recycling & disposal
service. Call 800-486-2858. They are
based in Minneapolis, MN. Their charge
as of January 6th 2009 is $89.95 KAB
